Privacy policy

MiseGauge (misegauge.com, "the site") has no sign-up and collects no information that identifies you personally, such as a name or contact details. What follows describes the information the site handles in order to work.

1. Location

• The site uses your browser's location feature to find nearby monitoring stations. This only happens if you grant permission in the browser, and you can withdraw it at any time in your settings.
• Your coordinates pass through the site's server (acting as a relay) to Korea's public data portal in order to look up stations and weather. The coordinates are not written to any database and are not stored against you.
• Request details may remain briefly in the access logs of the hosting provider (Cloudflare). These are ordinary server logs kept for operations and security, and are deleted according to that provider's retention policy.
• You can use the site without granting location permission by choosing a region manually.

2. Information stored in your browser

The items below are stored only on your device (browser local storage) and are never sent to a server. You can erase them at any time using your browser's "clear site data" function.

• The last location you viewed — so the screen fills in immediately on your next visit
• Theme preference — whether you chose the light or dark screen
• Language preference — the language you selected

3. Visit analytics and usability analysis

The site uses the two tools below to understand how it is used and improve it. Neither collects information that identifies you personally, such as a name or contact details.

• Google Analytics — visit statistics such as which pages are viewed and how people arrive. It distinguishes visits using cookies, and IP addresses are anonymised. You can opt out with the opt-out add-on.
• Microsoft Clarity — to find where people get stuck, it records on-screen interactions such as mouse movement, clicks and scrolling, and presents them as heatmaps and session replays. Anything typed into an input field is masked automatically and is not stored. See the Microsoft privacy statement for details.

If you use your browser's tracking protection or an ad-blocking extension, neither tool will run. This does not affect the site in any way.

4. Advertising and cookies

The site shows advertising through Google AdSense and Kakao AdFit. Third-party advertising providers may use cookies to show ads based on your previous visits.

• Google's use of advertising cookies follows the Google advertising policy.
• You can turn off personalised advertising in Google Ad Settings.
• You can manage third-party advertising cookies together at www.aboutads.info.
• The site sets no advertising cookies of its own.

6. Your rights

Because the site keeps no personal information that could identify you, there is no separate procedure for access, correction or deletion. Information stored on your device can be erased directly in your browser, and location permission can be withdrawn in your browser settings.

7. Children's privacy

The site is not directed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated policy and its effective date will be posted on this page.
